It is rare to find a matching pair of old French cast medals- and especially in gold bronze. This pair of Nun's Medals have a central Sacred Heart and Cross with engraved "8 Decembre 1911" and a name which I cannot read but ends in "ville"...on the back is a worn image of Mary holding the child Christ and in raised relief letters is "Marie a ete Concue sans Peche" (Mary was Conceived without Sin). A nun would receive an engraved medal during significant occasions in her religious life, most notably during her profession of vows. The medal, as a sacramental, serves as a powerful symbol of her commitment and spiritual identity. unique and lovely!
