to offer the holy Anaphora

Holy Anaphora of Saint John Chrysostom
(The Anaphora is the central prayer of the Divine Liturgy or Eucharist, a thanksgiving offering in remembrance of the body and blood of Jesus that was broken and poured at the cross.)
I rarely find old sacred pieces that I have never seen before - this is one of them: an Antique Sterling 18K Vermeil Eucahrist Pyx - in excellent condition with an intricately engraved Maltese Cross with a Crown of Thorns surround - the Pyx opens in a "pocket watch" style by depressing the top down and opening the two side prongs to reveal the pristine interior....it is marked "Sterling" and also marked "40" inside...the Maltese Cross universally symbolizes the four arms of the Cross, and stand for the four Cardinal Virtues – prudence, temperance, justice and fortitude. Inside compartment can hold a small rosary, scapular, blessing or prayer for keeping close to your heart....A truly special scared piece of religious history!
